Settings Catalog Analyzer

Browser-only

Search a curated reference of Windows settings and see the equivalent CSP area and OMA-URI, with the data type, supported OS, security impact and a recommended value.

Runs entirely in your browser. The values you enter are processed locally and are never sent to IntuneBench. You can use this tool offline once the page has loaded.

How it works

Type a setting name, keyword or OMA-URI and the analyzer returns matching entries. Each entry shows the equivalent chain — settings catalog → CSP area → OMA-URI — so you can move between the admin center and a custom policy without guessing.

Use Explain a URI to paste any OMA-URI and get a plain-language description. Known paths are described from the reference; unknown paths have their scope, CSP area and node explained so an unfamiliar URI still makes sense.

What each entry shows

  • Equivalent chain — the settings catalog category, the CSP area and the OMA-URI.
  • Data type and scope — the CSP format and whether the setting is device or user scoped.
  • Supported OS — the minimum Windows version the setting applies to.
  • Security impact — high, medium or low, to help prioritise review.
  • Recommended value and the allowed values for enumerated settings.
  • Documentation — a link to the official Microsoft Learn page for the setting.

Coverage

The reference is curated and honest about its scope: it starts with the highest-value Windows security areas — Microsoft Defender, Firewall, BitLocker and Windows Update — and grows over time. Every entry is sourced from the official Microsoft documentation, not inferred.

Supported scenarios

  • Finding the OMA-URI for a setting so you can build a custom policy.
  • Understanding what an unfamiliar OMA-URI does before you deploy it.
  • Checking the data type and supported OS for a security baseline setting.
